MMS Visual Art Class
For each grade level we will be exploring the world of visual art through discussing, conceptualizing, and creating works of art. Our focus will be on how to utilize the elements of art and the principles of design to make intentional and successful decisions in our artworks. Students will be led through the creative process while being exposed to many different disciplines in visual art such as drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, printmaking, and digital art to name a few. Syllabus Art ShowsStudents in visual art class will have many opportunities to have their artwork shared with the classroom, school, or even the community. Selected pieces from some of our projects will be displayed on our bulletin board outside the purple hall for students to admire and discuss as they move through the halls.
There will also 2 opportunities during the year for student work to be chosen for the McConnell Gallery during Fine Arts Night. Dates and other details will be announced as the events approach. Students whose artwork is selected will receive an invitation to the gallery opening reception. Finally, the annual Gwinnett County Tapestry Art Show held each spring represents the top student artwork from each school in the county. The opening reception at the Instructional Learning Center gives student artists the chance to view inspiring work from their peers, as well as receiving recognition for their own hard work. The few coveted spots for this show will be chosen by Mrs. Burden from all the artwork produced in class this school year. |
